And the Winner is … Revitalyze! The Austrian start-up Revitalyze was awarded the Josef Umdasch Research Prize 2023 on June 3. Their project focuses on a digital platform for the reuse of building materials.

The Josef Umdasch Research Prize sought innovative solutions that make the life cycle of a building more sustainable in terms of environmental protection, new building materials and technologies, renovation, circular economy and recycling, and resource efficiency. A total of 67 ideas from all over the world were submitted for the Josef Umdasch Research Prize 2023. After intensive review, three finalists made it to the shortlist:

• Revitalyze: The Austrian start-up developed a saas platform for the reuse of building materials.
• Ecómetro Mediciones Sl: The Spanish company presented a tool for calculating and optimizing the carbon footprint of buildings over their entire life cycle.
• ECÓMETRO MEDICIONES SL: The Moroccan company focused on the design and construction of buildings with clay using Building Information Modeling (BIM).

Revitalyze was able to convince the jury with their concept. They now get the opportunity to implement the idea in cooperation with us – Umdasch Group Ventures. The Josef Umdasch Research Prize has been supporting outstanding achievements in research and development since 1990 and has been presented in cooperation with the World Summit Awards since 2018.
