The future of construction at the bauma 2022

As the “Future & Innovation Hub” of the Umdasch Group, we – the Umdasch Group Ventures – are the strong growth and technology lever for new solutions and business models. To make construction projects and construction sites safe, modern and efficient so that all the requirements of today and tomorrow can be implemented smoothly, environmentally friendly and economically. That is our goal.

At bauma in Munich from October 24-30, 2022, our companies and strategic investments will present precisely these innovative solutions for construction.

The future of construction at the bauma 2022

Umdasch Group Ventures presents innovative solutions for the construction industry

  • Modularisation and automation on construction sites

  • Digitalisation and data management in the construction industry

  • Greater sustainability by reducing CO2

The future of the construction industry is a key concern. Construction sites and projects need to be managed with a safe, efficient and modern approach if we are to meet today’s challenges, as well as those of the future, in a reliable, environmentally friendly and economic way. This is the driving force behind the investments and innovations of Umdasch Group Ventures. The company’s R&D focuses on industrialisation, automation, standardisation and digitalisation along the entire construction process.

Experience the future at the bauma 2022

Umdasch Group Ventures – the Future & Innovation Hub of the Umdasch Group – is the strong growth and technology lever for new solutions and business models. The innovative products showcased at the bauma 2022 in Munich will demonstrate the potential of modularisation and automation on construction sites, as well as the use of digitalisation and data management within the construction industry.

3D construction printing as an economic, sustainable and efficient alternative

Umdasch Group Ventures is currently focusing on the new opportunities presented by 3D construction printing, which offers an economic alternative to existing construction methods and has a diverse range of applications. Materials are only used where they are structurally necessary. The use of locally available raw materials makes this approach more economic, sustainable and resource-efficient. This is the reasoning behind a new mobile mixing and dosing plant that produces the printing material (printing ink) in situ on the construction site. Easy transport and maximum mobility means that the 3D construction printer is always readily available for a diverse range of purposes. Quick and simple to operate and also easy to clean, the printer lends itself to many applications on the construction site.

Construction progress tracking using a 3D computer vision system

Cameras with integrated artificial intelligence (AI) or computer vision systems are well-known devices for detecting objects and people. What makes Umdasch Group Ventures 3D computer vision system revolutionary and unique is the additional information about spatial positions. Objects and persons are recognised by AI. The system also determines their spatial position on the construction site, enabling it to determine construction progress or the current status of the building shell. When the system is installed high up, e.g. on the construction site crane, it provides a perfect overview of the shell construction site. To comply with data protection regulations, public areas are hidden from the picture and AI anonymises any people. The construction progress data is displayed in the digital 3D building model so that the site manager has virtually real-time access to it. The innovative construction progress recognition system from Umdasch Group Ventures is still in the beta phase, in which the AI is being further trained and optimised.

The 3D construction printer and 3D computer vision system with AI-based construction progress recognition enables Umdasch Group Ventures to modularise and automate construction sites and drive digitalisation and data management within the construction industry. It brings builders and construction companies clear competitive advantages and establishes the benchmark for the future.

NeoTwin presents innovative concepts at the bauma 2022

The digitalisation of the entire building life cycle

  • The real estate platform for the entire building life cycle

  • Consolidation of all processes and data

  • Digital mapping and control of the building lifecycle

The construction and operation of real estate and infrastructure are associated with high costs and risks. Even when a building is complete, ongoing operations and upkeep also generates considerable costs and requires significant coordination throughout the building lifecycle. Digitalisation is the strongest lever that can be used to save both time and money here. However, attempts to run fully digitised processes fail due to a lack of real-time data and documentation over the building life cycle. That is, until now!

Creating the future at the bauma 2022

NeoTwin, the Munich-based prop-tech company that is part of Umdasch Group Ventures, will be using the bauma 2022 to present an innovative, fully BIM-enabled platform designed for the owners of real estate and infrastructure facilities. This revolutionary solution is the first one to enable the digital tracking and control of the entire building life cycle.

The prometriq platform is based on a company’s existing systems and processes, which are integrated into the solution. Users therefore benefit from real-time insights into time, costs and quality of construction projects and existing real estate to enable reliable and efficient reporting and control.

NeoTwin provides building owners and investors with a real estate platform that digitises the entire building life cycle. The platform uses real-time KPI- and analysis-based monitoring and control to drive productivity – from the planning phase over ongoing operation to deconstruction.

NEULANDT will reveal the new features of the portable precast plant N3P at the bauma 2022

Creating valuable living space with the portable precast plant NEULANDT 3P (N3P)

  • N3P enables the industrialised mass production of precast concrete elements

  • The innovative butterfly formwork technology combines the advantages of horizontal preparation and vertical pouring

  • A modular production plant concept that can be adapted to customer needs

The world’s population is constantly growing. In many parts of the world, there is a lack of affordable living space. At NEULANDT, the name says it all. NEULANDT (neu meaning ‘new’, land meaning ‘land’) focuses on transforming land into living spaces, thereby adding social, economic and ecological value. The portable precast plant N3P, including its unique butterfly technology, enables NEULANDT to improve the productivity of construction projects, standardise quality and ensure the creation of added value on site and in the country. This innovation is a response to the increasing global demand for affordable living spaces, such as on the Ivory Coast, for example. Plans for the N3P here include the production of sufficient precast concrete elements to enable the construction of up to 1,000 houses within one year.

Shaping the future at the bauma 2022

As part of the globally operating Umdasch Group and a subsidiary of Umdasch Group Ventures – the Group’s innovation hub – NEULANDT delivers ground-breaking innovations for the construction industry. At the bauma 2022 in Munich, NEULANDT will be presenting a modular production plant concept that combines the functional units of the N3P into customised modules. Particularly in terms of smaller construction projects, the initial total investment can be significantly reduced by upgradable modules. The modularisation and standardisation of the N3P facilitates market entry for project partners and ensures long-term scalability.

NEULANDT’s portable precast plant – the N3P – enables the simultaneous optimisation of the construction schedule, quality and costs. This enables the urban living spaces of the future to be built faster, cheaper, more sustainably and with higher quality.
